Active Day for volunteers

Volunteers were kept busy today for several alarms -
At 11:05 the report of a kitchen fire at a local restaurant in the four corners came in. Arriving firefighters found a fire in the kitchen that had spread up the exhaust ductwork to the roof. Crews pulled two handlines and worked from both the kitchen and roof area to stop the fire from spreading further.
While crews worked this incident another alarm sounded for the report of wires down on Country Lane (12:28) which was handled by a mutual aid company that was standing by in our quarters.
As crews began picking up from the restaurant incident a third alarm came in for the report of a house fire on Tree Brook Dr (12:53) which brought the mutual aid fill-in companies plus the available Penfield apparatus that had cleared from the restaurant incident to that scene. Crews said they found a mulch fire that had spread to the siding on a home. Crews wet the area and removed the burned siding to check for extension.
