Fatal Mobile Home Fire
The Volunteer Penfield Fire Company received a report of a Mobile Home on fire this morning at 4:46 on Fondiller Ave. Immediately following the dispatch updates reported people trapped in the home. The first arriving assistant chief declared a working fire with people trap. Engine 372 was first fire apparatus on scene and made an attempt at a rescue. As the firefighters made entry into the mobile home the conditions deteriorated quickly and crews were forced out. There were a total of three fatalities in this fire. Crews remained on location working the scene for quite some time.
