Softball - Pirates Home opener

~ It was a warm one out there on Harris Whalen as the Penfield Pirates faced off against Fairport fire in softball, game 3 of the season and the opener for Penfield fire.  Fairport played a solid game leaving Penfield at a 19 to 3 deficit  as the bottom of the 5th started.  Penfield came back with several runs as the inning closed to prevent a "mercy rule" game over loss.
More runs were scored for Penfield through the 6th inning bringing the game even closer.
It all came down to the bottom of the 7th inning with Fairport leading 21 to to 13.  Throughout the bottom of the inning several runs were driven in bringing the score up to 21 to 19, for the first time all game defeat for Fairport looked possible.  With two outs and the bases loaded, winning run on first, Fairport came up with the final out to pull off there victory.
